We've attended and participated in many tradeshows and we've studied the usefulness of this medium across several different industries. The bottom line is that tradeshows are a fantastic way to acquire new customers and network with existing ones. Not only that, tradeshows are a great place to find new vendors or even partners.
For many small businesses, the tradeshow circuit is the only marketing they do. While we don't recommend this, there is no question that tradeshows are an affordable marketing vehicle and one that should be included in your overall marketing strategy.
Consistent Presence
The key to tradeshow success is not only participating in at least three or four per year, but also attending those that you don't participate in. At the very least, if you cannot exhibit, look for ways to sponsor an event that targets your market.
